Frequently asked questions
What is Stride Bio?
Stride Bio is a blend of a biological complex, nutrients, and flow agents. It places these actives directly on the seed to aid in singulation and improve seedling vigor and growth. It is compatible with fungicide seed treatments, insecticide seed treatments, and inoculants, but does not replace them. Stride Bio does eliminate the need to add talc or graphite.
What are the key ingredients in Stride Bio?
Stride Bio contains:
- Nutrients: Calcium (1.0%), Magnesium (0.5%), Sulfur (4.0% Combined Sulfur), Iron (0.1% Water Soluble Iron), Manganese (4.0% Water Soluble Manganese), Zinc (10.0%, with 4.0% Water Soluble Zinc). Derived from Dolomitic Limestone, Iron Oxide, Manganese Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, and Zinc Oxide.
- Biological complex: Promotes soil health, germination, and defends against early-season stress
- Yield Burst components: Provides efficient energy for microbes and plants
- Non-plant food ingredients: Talc and graphite in an 80/20 ratio for flowability and drying
What are the benefits of using Stride Bio?
Stride Bio provides multiple agronomic benefits, including:
- Provides the seed with essential components for a strong start
- Energizes emergence and early-season vigor
- Enhances root and root hair development
- Improves tolerance to both early-season and late-season stress events
- Maintains seed flowability and singulation through the planter
- Improves crop emergence
- Includes key nutrition
- Promotes root growth
- Establishes biological diversity
- Defends against crop stress
- Dries seed and enhances flowability.
How is Stride Bio applied?
Stride Bio is formulated to be used exactly like a standard graphite or graphite/talc blend. Apply directly to seeds in the hopper box and mix to ensure even coverage. For hopper boxes, gently stir in Stride Bio for best results. For center fill planters, add Stride Bio in conjunction with adding seed. It may also be applied to center fill planters. Measuring scoops are provided in each container. Contents may settle during transportation.
What application rates should I use for different crops?
Use rates are in oz per 100 pounds of seed:
- Corn: 6 oz
- Soybeans: 3 oz
- Small grains: 1–3 oz
- Cotton: 12 oz
- All other crops (including alfalfa, canola, dry beans, grain sorghum, peanuts, rice, sugarbeet, sunflower): 4 oz
What does Stride Bio replace?
The only true replacement is the graphite or graphite/talc blend being used prior. It does not replace fungicide, insecticide, seed treatments, or inoculants.
Is there any concern about mixing Stride Bio with seed treatments containing fungicides?
No. Multiple studies and trials have been conducted with the microbes in Stride Bio when applied to seeds treated with fungicide and insecticide (F&I) treatments. No issues have been noted that would impact product efficacy.
